Preparing your visit

Getting Over Timidity

Visiting an adult nursery demands a certain dose of courage and self-acceptation. Some infantilists have difficulty dealing with the embarrassement because they spent years keeping their feelings to themselves.

The first visit, for most visitors, is often the first time they can share their feelings regarding infantilism with another person. It is therefore important that this person be trustworthy.

Fortunately, this first meeting usually goes very well. After an initial contact with experienced and understanding persons, conversation soon takes on a friendly tone and timidity fades away. Most times, timidity is replaced by enthousiasm about the nursery's offerings.

Also remember that your stay will be adapted to YOUR needs and not the other way around! In other words, you will never be forced to take part in scenarios you dislike... unless this was discussed with your nanny beforehand.

Reserving Your Stay

Of course, the first step is tu communicate with your nanny tu set up a date and time for your stay.

You may also use a service request form to specify your needs more precisely before contacting nursery personel.

> Go to the service request form
> Contact nursery staff of nannies

The Waiting

OK. So you've set an appointment. Now you have to wait for the fatidic hour! Be it in a few hours or weeks, anticipation can be very exciting!

Use this time to plan your trip. Try not to be late for your first appointment.

Another activity that may help pass time is to better define your role. What do you like? Dislike? Are there specific activities you dream about? Don't hesitate to call your nanny to discuss waht you expect of your stay: your experience will only be more memorable!

What To Bring Along?

Now you can decide what to bring to your appointment. Here are some tips:

  • The nursery already has many adult baby accessories. Usually, you would find your stay very satisfying even if you brougth none of your belongings. However, if you have favorite clothes or toys, you are encouraged to bring them with you.
  • Of course, don't bring everything you own! Don't forget that you will have to bring them back afterwards! Be selective. For stay of a few hours, no need to bring changes for a week!
  • If you intend on peeing your pants, it might be a good idea to bring along a spare pair of pants.
  • If you expect to buy clothes at the nursery, plan luggage space to bring them back.

Getting There

International travellers : If you travel in from outside of Canada, make sure you have a valid passport. Take into account the time you will have to spend clearing customs. NEVER LIE TO TO CUSTOMS OFFICERS: Never try to hide information if they ask you questions and tell them you are on vacation in Canada, unless you are here for other reasons.

Take into account the time required to get to your appointment. It is better to arrive a bit in advance than to be late.

Don't arrive too much in advance, your nanny may still be with another visitor. Try to arrive about five minutes in advance.

The Arrival

Upon your arrival, your nanny will show you around the nursery. Your first contact is important, you will feel at ease in very little time. Previous visitors usually lose their initial anxiety when they see the baby bedroom!

Your Nanny will then talk to you about your expectations, the scenarios you like, the equipements you wish to use, etc.

Finally!

This is where the scenario begins! Let go of your adult life! Get in touch with the child in you. Don't act; be!

This is usually when you feel your diaper is wet!

Of course, each scenario is different. To each his own!

After Your Stay

Take a few minutes to tell your nanny what you liked or disliked. She need this feedback to know you better.

After you leave, you will probably think about what happened during your visit many times. You can write to your nanny to tell her about your thoughts, what you would like to experience next time...

Finally, tell us, or your nanny your testimony. Who knows, we might post it on our website, anonymously of course!
